Dr. Mitchell Reilly

Mitchell Reilly began his formal training at age eight, ultimately going on to complete his Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin Performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory, studying under Joseph Genauldi. During his DMA, Reilly received a fellowship as the Orchestral Manager Graduate Teaching Assistant for the university’s symphony orchestra. Reilly regularly performs as a substitute with the Kansas City Symphony, KC Ballet, KC Chamber Orchestra and has played in other local groups such as the St. Joseph Symphony and Topeka Symphony, Midwest Chamber Ensemble. His summers have been spent as a fellow at music festivals like Kent Blossom, EuroArts Germany, Mahlerfest Boulder Colorado, University of North Texas Strings Institute, and Concertmaster of KC Sinfonietta.

Reilly is a devoted music educator working as a faculty member at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Academy/Musical Bridges program, the Music and Arts Institute, and teaches the chamber music program at Harmony Project KC. Recently he had a one year appointment at the UMKC Conservatory as Adjunct Instructor of Violin, created a new Suzuki program at Spring Branch Elementary school, a faculty member at the George Caleb Brigham Academy of the Arts summer program, and is a certified Mental Health First Aider.
