District Choir Preparation Clinic
Saturday, September 29: a clinic for High School students preparing for District Choir auditions, MAI®. Participants gained insight and critical feedback on their vocal solo, reinacted the required sight-reading and key signature identification components of the audtion.
All State Choir Preparation Clinic
Saturday, October 20: a clinic for High School students that made their All-District choir. This event prepares one for strategies, feedback and experience in recreating the Solo Quartet portion of the Missouri All-State Choir audition.
District Band Audition Preparation Clinic
Tuesday, October 30, 2007: Jarrod Warren held a studio clinic for High School Saxophone and Clarinet students who were preparing to audition for District Band. Dr. James Gai of Central Missouri University was the guest clinician. Participants gained insight and critical feedback on their excerpts, etudes and scales , required components of the audition.
Fall Honors Recital
On Saturday, November 17, 10:00a - students who were nominated by their studio instructor performed on the Annual Fall Honors Recital. This event featured students from the studios of Millicent Daugherty, Elena Korchak, Caroline Neal, Ida Nicolosi, Sariah Pinick, John Svoboda.
MAI® Junior Festival
Saturday, February 2, 2008: 9:00a-12:00p. A "non-rating/comments only" festival where all students in grades pre-K to the 8th Grade performed for respected clinicians. This experience helps in preparation for studio recitals and provides an opportunity for students and teachers to set goals for the more formal Festival MAI® in April.
Pre-Contest Festival
This is a special festival on March 15th, and was held for high school students who competed at District School Contests. Students were assigned a 7 minute time slot, ratings assigned, comments gathered and reviewed by the Division Chairs then returned to the teachers so that they review them with their students at the next lesson.
