Philip Clark - Trumpet
Philip
K. Clark is currently Associate Principal Trumpet with the Kansas City
Symphony and Principal Trumpet/Operations Manager with the Crested Butte
Music Festival in Crested Butte, Colorado.
He has been a member of the Kansas City Philharmonic, Toledo Symphony, and the Utah Festival Opera Orchestra. He has also performed with the Detroit and Atlanta Symphonies.
Philip has been a member of and recorded with the Kansas City Brass and the Galliard Brass Ensemble. He is the adjunct instructor of Trumpet at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, and has been the instructor of Trumpet at Music/Arts Institute® ® for 24 years.
Philip holds the degrees Doctor of Musical Arts and Bachelor of Music from the University of Georgia and the degree Masters of Music from the University of Michigan. His teachers include Armando Ghitalla, formerly Principal Trumpet with the Boston Symphony, Albert Ligotti, formerly of the New York Philharmonic, and Craig Parker of Kansas State University.
When not performing or teaching, Philip enjoys hiking and the study of Kenpo Karate, where he holds the rank of Third Degree Black Belt.
